Gulistan State University is a member of European Union ErasmusQ (Tempus) program 574055 - EPP-1 - 2016-1-IT - EPPKA 2 - CBHE - JP registration number "RENES: Development of Master Program in Renewable Energy Sources and Sustainable Environment" and has been selected as a winner of the grant for the grant for the grant from October 15, 2016 to October 14, 2019, as a partner in a grant project of € 250.4 thousand for a period of 3 years, and in 2017 83.5 thousand euros .

The purpose of this foreign grant project is to:

Develop a new Master's Curriculum for Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Sustainable Environment (SE), meeting European standards;
Capacity building of 6 HEIs in Uzbekistan in the field of RES and SE;
Creating a Renewable Energy Laboratory;
Development of science-education-innovation integration within the framework of RES and SE.
As a result of this project, the prospects for the use of renewable energy sources, including solar energy will be expanded. New engineers who are capable of dealing with renewable energy sources will be trained.

The work under the project fully complies with our national policies for the sustainable development of industry and energy. Thus, one of the pressing issues is the development of master's program in the field of Renewable Energy Sources and Sustainable Environment which meets the European standards for the HEIs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The proposed foreign grant project is planned to be implemented in six HEIs of Uzbekistan including Gulistan State University.

Taking into account the requirements of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the university was tasked to report to the Ministry quarterly on the progress and results of the project. Responsible for the implementation of the tasks set out in the Foreign Grant Project, Sh.Niyazov is a docent of the Department of Physics, responsible for the development and preparation of a Master's Program on Renewable Energy Sources at the University; O.Davlatov - Head of the Department of Physics, Responsible for organization of educational seminars within the framework of the grant project; A.Abdullayev - the senior lecturer of the department of physics, responsible for the development and training of master's program; M.Komilov - teacher of physics department, responsible for development and preparation of master's program.

In the framework of this project, Head of International Relations Azamat Shaimkulov and Associate Professor of Physics Sh. Niyazov will participate in the plenary meeting organized in Bulgaria and Germany on the topic of "RENES: Development of Master Program in Renewable Energy Sources and Sustainable Environment" in 2017. agreed on the tasks and objectives of the project.
