ABOUT THE MEMORIAL MUSEUM OF VICTIMS OF REPRESSION AT GULISTAN STATE UNIVERSITY INFORMATION
On August 31, 2017, Miromonovich Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during a visit to the state museum “Memorial of the Victims of Repression” under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, stated: “This museum is a museum of museums... such museums should be in the center of each region, at higher educational institutions in the regions.” completing tasks. To truthfully and fully reflect the many years of hard struggle for freedom, freedom and independence of our country, to perpetuate the memory of our compatriots who were victims of mass repression during the autocratic regime and whose human dignity and value were lost. in order to cultivate in the hearts of the younger generation a feeling of love for the Motherland and loyalty to the ideas of independence. On the basis of the decision No. 936 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 22, 2017, the Repression Victims Memorial Museum in the structure of Gulistan State University began its operation on February 1, 2019. The museum "Memorial of Repression Victims" is one of the museums of historical significance in the rise of our national spirituality. The necessary material base for organizing the museum exposition has been created. Relevant archival documents, photographs, material items, books, video materials have been collected. The exhibits related to the period of repression and the necessary documents kept in the local history museum of our region were brought to the museum by the members of the working group. The museum mainly contains diaries, correspondence with leaders, books, diaries and other documents kept in state archives of people who experienced severe persecution during the period of 1860-1990. stored and researched. Our people, who know their ancestors well, carefully preserve the works, traditions, and values created in the fields of history, science, literature, and art handed down by our grandfathers and grandmothers, and always remember the past masters. At the root of this, there is no doubt, a great meaning, a deep essence of wisdom. It is known that representatives of the national renaissance movement, which arose in Turkestan at the beginning of the 20th century, worked to bring the people out of colonialism, social and cultural backwardness. Unfortunately, the ruling circles of that time carried out a repressive policy aimed at destroying the scientific and spiritual potential of our ancestors. They organized various slanders against them and sentenced them to death with labels such as "enemy of the people", "traitor of the country", "bourgeois nationalist". From 1860 to 1916, the museum presents those punished for participating in popular uprisings, victims of the struggle against Soviet power in 1917-1924, victims of political accusations and “eavesdropping” in 1925-1936, victims of the “Great Massacre” of 1937. -1938.-years, the years of the Second World War and those repressed in the period up to the 50s, research work is carried out in the chronological section of the “Cotton Affair” and “The Uzbek Affair”.
