When the Gafur Gulom Pedagogical Institute was established in Syrdarya in July 1966, only the literature in these fields was brought from the Tashkent Nizami Pedagogical Institute and a library was established. Forty years later (1966-2006), the library was transformed into an Information Resource Center.
Today, the IRC book fund is 407,703 copies of 42,707 titles. Of these: electronic resources - 35834 names. By 2021 alone, more than 10,000 titles of background literature have been digitized.
