The Uzbek language — the pride of the nation and a symbol of the state!

Today, October 21, marks the day when the Uzbek language was granted the status of a state language. In this sense, the date is a great holiday symbolizing our people's national identity, spiritual strength, and historical pride. This year marks the 36th anniversary of this sacred event.

On this occasion, flowers were laid early in the morning at the monument of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi in the “House of Knowledge,” and deep respect was paid to his memory. The love and reverence for the mother tongue reflected in Navoi’s works continue to serve as a school of inspiration for all our compatriots today.

The solemn event was attended by the rector of Gulistan State University, M. Khodjiyev, professors, teachers, students, and staff. Participants shared their views on the role of the native language in the development of society and its importance in instilling national pride and patriotism in the younger generation.

The Uzbek language is the foundation of our national unity and spiritual identity. Preserving, cherishing, and passing it on in its pure form to future generations is a sacred duty for each of us.
