Gulistan State University Establishes Strategic Educational Cooperation with China

On December 4, 2025, at an extraordinary session of the Syrdarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies held with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Gulistan State University was tasked with expanding cooperation with educational institutions of the People’s Republic of China. Within the framework of implementing this directive, a university delegation is currently on an official visit to China.

Starting from February 2, 2026, a delegation led by the Rector of Gulistan State University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mukhsin Khodjiyev, held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the People’s Republic of China, Farhod Arziyev, during which prospects for strategic cooperation between the two countries were discussed. The visit was organized with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China.

During the official visit, meetings were held with the leadership of Beifang Automotive Education Group, Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College, and Shaanxi A&F Technology University, focusing on expanding cooperation in the fields of education, science, and technology.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed with Beifang Automotive Education Group (Beifang International), providing for the establishment of an international-standard automotive training center at Gulistan State University, the creation of modern laboratories, and the development of joint curricula and teaching materials. The agreements also include faculty exchange programs, professional development and internships in China, as well as the introduction of joint certification mechanisms.

At a meeting between the Rector of Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College, Professor Li Yunmei, and the Rector of Gulistan State University, Professor M. Khodjiyev, an agreement was reached to establish a “Lu Ban Workshop” at Gulistan State University, as well as to launch joint scientific and practical conferences and student exchange programs.

In addition, the delegation visited Northwest A&F University (Shaanxi A&F Technology University), where issues related to the development of strategic cooperation in education and science were discussed. According to the agreements reached, 20 faculty members of Gulistan State University will undergo professional training in China this year, and Summer Camp programs will be organized for students.
