Address of the Rector of Gulistan State University M. Khodjiyev on the implementation of the tasks defined during the dialogue of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with youth dedicated to supporting their initiatives

Dear youth! Dear students!

Today a new stage begins in the life of our country, especially in the fields of education and youth policy. The open and sincere dialogue of our Head of State Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev with nearly 60,000 young people at the “Kuksaroy” residence once again demonstrated the great responsibility placed upon us — leaders of higher education institutions.

The President’s words that “in the image of more than 22 million young people we see a tremendous economic, social and political force” strengthened our confidence in the builders of the New Uzbekistan.

Based on the historic tasks set by our respected President, I, as the Rector of Gulistan State University, declare the following with personal responsibility:

First, graduate employment is our highest priority. I am personally responsible for ensuring that every graduate finds their place in life and secures достойное employment. From now on, we will not only issue diplomas but also personally connect each graduate with employers. Major clusters and enterprises of Syrdarya region will become our permanent partners.

Second, a green corridor for startups and innovation. The “President Tech Award” project presented by the President serves as a practical guideline for us. We will create all necessary conditions to prepare projects capable of winning competitions with a prize fund of 1 million US dollars. Every innovative idea of our students will receive financial and organizational support from the university.

Third, academic Olympiads and international recognition. The victories of our youth in international science Olympiads inspire us. We will launch a special “Academy of Talents” at the university to prepare students for international competitions. Our goal is to train specialists who meet the standards of the world’s most prestigious universities.

Fourth, “Second Chance” and social protection. Based on the humanitarian principles advanced by the President, we will work individually with every student in need of social support, including those listed in the “Youth Register.” No student will be left without attention.

Dear professors and teachers! Your responsibility today is greater than ever. Each mentor must become a key guide helping young people learn languages, acquire professions, and implement their ideas and projects. We will evaluate educators not only by delivered lectures but by the achievements, employment, and practical impact of their students’ creative ideas. I call on you to be even more proactive for the bright future of our youth.

Dear students! Every initiative and every dream of yours matters to me. My door is always open for you. Together, we will nurture true heroes of the New Uzbekistan on the land of Syrdarya.

I am confident that the broad opportunities created by our Head of State will be effectively utilized. We, the community of rectors, will mobilize all our strength and potential for your bright future.
