China–Uzbekistan cooperation reaches a new stage: Gulistan State University expands international partnership within the Belt and Road Initiative
A presentation of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan (Syrdarya region) and China (Tianjin) was held in Tianjin, People’s Republic of China. Representatives of Gulistan State University actively participated in this prestigious event.
Prior to the event, a meeting was held between the Governor of Syrdarya region, Erkinjon Turdimov, and the head of the Chinese delegation, Party Committee Secretary Li Yunmei. During the meeting, the Chinese side presented detailed information about their institution’s activities, international cooperation experience, and the “Luban Workshop” project. The parties also discussed areas of cooperation and future plans with Gulistan State University.
The Governor highly appreciated the initiatives and emphasized full support for implementing joint projects in the Syrdarya region. The meeting was also attended by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China, Farhod Arziyev, and Embassy Counselor Aziz Muysinaliyev.
Within the framework of the presentation, Vice-Rector of Gulistan State University Dilmurod Eshmurodov and a representative of the Chinese college signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document предусматривает cooperation in the following areas:
– exchange of professors and students
– joint training of specialists
– innovative cooperation based on the integration of education, science, and industry
After the signing ceremony, the Chinese side handed over educational materials in the “Chinese language + professional skills” format, as well as bilingual textbooks, marking an important practical step in strengthening cooperation.
During the visit, the Vice-Rector also explored training-production integration bases in renewable energy, precision manufacturing, and intelligent technologies, as well as the activities of the “Luban Workshops”.
The Uzbek side highly appreciated the advanced experience and expressed strong interest in jointly using high-quality educational resources, training skilled personnel, and improving the practical competencies of teachers. The parties also discussed specific mechanisms for further cooperation.
The signing of this memorandum marks a significant step forward in China–Uzbekistan cooperation in vocational education within the Belt and Road Initiative.
