5000 STEPS FOR A HEALTHY LIFE!

Gulistan State University has declared Wednesday as “Sports Day!”. As part of this initiative, on April 29, an early morning walking marathon was organized under the slogan “5000 Steps for a Healthy Life!” with the participation of professors, teachers, and staff. Morning exercise sessions were also conducted to promote a healthy lifestyle and engage the university community in mass sports activities.

📌 Why 5000 steps?
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), overweight and obesity are becoming global issues. The most effective way to prevent them is regular physical activity and healthy nutrition. Walking at least 5000–10000 steps daily helps prevent cardiovascular diseases, strengthens the immune system, and improves overall quality of life.

🏃‍♂️ Participants not only engaged in physical activities but also received valuable advice on healthy eating, regular exercise, and stress management. Considering the positive outcomes, the university has now designated every Tuesday and Friday as “5000 Steps for a Healthy Life!” days.
