On September 7, 2026, a festive event dedicated to the opening of the new 2026/2027 academic year was held at Gulistan State University under the slogan “Together as one Homeland and one people, let us create a new life and future!”

The event was opened by the Rector of the University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor M.T. Khodjiev, who delivered a congratulatory speech. In his address, the Rector congratulated all faculty members, students and parents on the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and briefly outlined the goals and objectives of the university community for the 2026/2027 academic year.

During the event, congratulatory speeches were delivered by Pokiza Axmedjanova, Chairperson of the Council of People's Deputies of Syrdarya Region; O'tbosar Abdiyev, Chairperson of the regional “Nuroniylar” Foundation; labor veteran Sobirjon Usmonov; university professor Ravshanbek Mahmudov; Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Fazliddin Sharipov; poet Alisher Nur; university youth leader Yorqinjon Hayitboyev; fourth-year student and recipient of the State Prize named after Zulfiya, Jasmina Sheraliyeva; winner of the “Student of the Year” competition Sohibjon Habibullayev; and first-year student Mohinur Eshnurodova.
