Central Asia – European Union Universities Congress: Gulistan State University Delegation Achieves Important Agreements

The Central Asia – European Union Universities Congress, currently taking place in Samarkand, is recognized as a prestigious scientific and practical platform that contributes to elevating international cooperation in higher education to a new level. The congress brings together university leaders, experts, and representatives of the academic community from various countries, promoting key initiatives aimed at experience exchange, launching joint projects, and improving the quality of education.

The delegation of Gulistan State University is actively participating in this prestigious forum. In particular, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Abdushokhit Pozilov and Dean of the Medical Faculty Farhod Shernazarov are taking part in meetings and negotiations, achieving a number of important agreements.

Productive meetings were also held among leaders of local higher education institutions. Notably, the meeting between the Rector of Tashkent Medical Academy, Shuhrat Abdujalilovich Boymuradov, and the Dean of the Medical Faculty of Gulistan State University, Farhod Shernazarov, held special significance. During the meeting, the crucial role of the university’s Rector, Muhsin Tadjiyevich Khodjiev, in establishing the Medical Faculty was particularly acknowledged.

Indeed, due to the rector’s initiative, strategic vision, and forward-looking policy, the establishment of the medical field at the university became a significant milestone. Under his leadership, consistent efforts are being made to improve education quality, implement internationally aligned curricula, and develop modern infrastructure. Special attention is given to training young specialists, strengthening scientific capacity, and expanding international cooperation.

During the meeting, issues related to expanding bilateral cooperation, further improving the quality of medical education, and introducing innovative approaches were also discussed.

As a result of the meeting, several important agreements were reached. In particular, the parties agreed to establish cooperation in the process of international accreditation of the Medical Faculty of Gulistan State University next year, including experience exchange and methodological and organizational support. Joint initiatives were also proposed to equip a newly established simulation center at the university with modern technologies, introduce innovative teaching methods, and strengthen practical skills.

In addition, the parties agreed to jointly develop curricula for final-year medical students, implement advanced international practices in the educational process, and organize final state certification exams together. This will enable the assessment of graduates’ knowledge and skills based on international standards.

Overall, the congress serves as an important platform for strengthening cooperation in higher education at both regional and global levels, enhancing scientific capacity, and elevating education quality to a new stage. The active participation of Gulistan State University’s delegation further strengthens its international reputation.
