Prominent Pakistani scholars — Professor Dr. Shazia Sultana and Academician Professor Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad — have been awarded the title of “Honorary Professor” of Guliston davlat universiteti.
This recognition marked an important step toward expanding the university’s international scientific cooperation, strengthening integration in science and innovation, and elevating collaboration with the global academic community to a new level.
Professor Dr. Shazia Sultana is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of agrobiodiversity, bioenergy, ecology, biotechnology, and sustainable agriculture. She has received more than 19,000 citations, with an H-index of 62. The scholar has published over 400 high-impact scientific articles indexed in Scopus.
Academician Professor Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad is one of the world’s leading scientists in plant biology and life sciences. He is a member of TWAS–UNESCO, IAS–OIC, the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, and the PIFI-CAS program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Professor Mushtaq Ahmad’s research activities cover medicinal plants, biodiversity, ecology, climate change, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and energy crops. His scientific achievements include 997 research papers, more than 25,000 citations, and an H-index of 80.
In addition, Professor Ahmad is the author of 30 international books and 35 book chapters published by prestigious publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and Wiley. He has supervised more than 50 PhD and postdoctoral researchers, as well as hundreds of young scholars.
As part of the activities of these foreign scholars at Gulistan State University, educational sessions for students in the natural sciences are planned. Furthermore, master classes will be organized for faculty members and young researchers on preparing and publishing scientific articles indexed in Scopus, as well as on developing modern innovative projects and technologies.
These initiatives will contribute to further strengthening the university’s research activities, establishing a scientific school that meets international standards, and enhancing the scientific potential of young researchers.
