For the first time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education organized a video conference with the heads of diplomatic missions of our country in foreign countries.

The event was attended by Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education Abdukadir Tashkulov, First Deputy Foreign Minister Farhod Arziev, heads of diplomatic missions of our country in foreign countries and representatives of the Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Languages ​​under the Cabinet of Ministers.

During the meeting, the Minister spoke about the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years in the field of higher education, the results achieved, existing problems and effective solutions, future tasks and called on the heads of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad.

The following issues were discussed at the meeting on the resolution signed by the President on the promotion of foreign language learning and the tasks set in the video conference dedicated to the discussion of priorities in the higher education system in the coming days:

- expansion of cooperation with universities of foreign countries;
- opening branches of prestigious foreign universities and the introduction of joint educational programs;
- Establishing links between existing departments of higher education in the country and related departments abroad;
- Attracting grants and technical assistance from developed countries to the higher education system of the country;
- Advanced training and internships of professors and teachers abroad on the basis of government programs of foreign countries;
- Organization of advocacy work to attract foreign students to universities in Uzbekistan;
- Procurement of foreign educational and scientific literature.

During the conversation, Minister A.Tashkulov noted the need to intensify the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the missions of our country in foreign countries in the field of higher and vocational education.

The online meeting also discussed proposals to attract leading professors and teachers from foreign countries in order to create opportunities for students of higher educational institutions of the country to study foreign languages ​​in depth.
