On September 5, 2022, the "Day of Knowledge" dedicated to the opening ceremony of the New 2022/20223 academic year was held at Gulistan State University. The event was opened by the rector of the university, doctor of technical sciences, professor M. T. Khodzhiyev and made a congratulatory speech. In his congratulatory speech, the rector of the university congratulated all the professors, students and parents on the 31st anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan and gave a brief opinion on the goals and tasks of the university team in the academic year 20022/2023.

During the event, the deputy of the Council of People's Deputies of the Syrdarya region, the head of the Department of the State Language, the poet Muhammad Ismail made a speech and gave a speech on the work done in higher education, including Gulistan State University. He also recited the poem "Syrdaryolikler" dedicated to the students.
University vice-chancellors and public representatives also spoke during the event.
