On August 29, 2025, the first meeting of the Gulistan State University Council for the 2025/2026 academic year was held in an expanded format under the motto “For the Homeland, for the Nation, for the People!”.

The meeting was opened and chaired by the Rector of the university, Chairman of the Council, M. Khodjiyev. In his opening remarks, the Chairman sincerely congratulated the staff on the 34th anniversary of our greatest and most cherished holiday — Independence Day.

The meeting then discussed preparations for the new academic year. A review of the achievements of the past academic year was presented, and tasks were set for improving educational, methodological, scientific-research, spiritual-educational activities, as well as strengthening the material and technical base in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Pro-rectors, department heads, and experienced professors also took the floor to share their opinions and suggestions.

At the Council meeting, holders of academic degrees and titles, as well as winners of various competitions, were awarded.
