On September 25, a prestigious delegation led by Professor Shan Baolong, Chairman of the Test-Analytical Center of the Shandong Academy of Sciences (China), visited Gulistan State University. (https://t.me/gulduuz/28446)

The guests were warmly welcomed by the university’s rector, M. Khodjiyev. During the meeting, the parties held a detailed discussion on current scientific research and innovative activities. They also addressed issues related to further strengthening bilateral scientific cooperation.

At the end of the talks, an important document — a Memorandum of Scientific and Innovative Cooperation — was signed. Under this agreement, joint research, internship programs, academic exchanges, and the training of qualified specialists will be implemented.

In accordance with the decision of the Gulistan State University Council, Professor Shan Baolong was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the university, and a special diploma was solemnly presented to him.

As part of the visit program, the guests were introduced to the activities of the Institute of Agrobiotechnology and Biochemistry at Gulistan State University. The institute’s director, Professor Habibjon Kushiyev, presented the delegation with ongoing innovative research in food security, soil fertility, biotechnology, and plant breeding, as well as products developed by the institute’s researchers.

The key highlight of the day was the groundbreaking ceremony of the China–Uzbekistan International Joint Laboratory of “Test-Analytical Research” at Gulistan State University.

During the ceremony, Rector M. Khodjiyev and Professor Shan Baolong jointly placed a symbolic capsule into the laboratory’s foundation, officially launching this strategic project. (https://t.me/gulduuz/28447)

This initiative will open wide opportunities for new scientific research and joint projects between the two countries’ scientists. Moreover, it is expected to contribute significantly to the introduction of advanced technologies in the agricultural sector of Syrdarya region and Uzbekistan as a whole, improving soil quality and increasing agricultural productivity.
