Gulistan State University was visited by First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhriddin Valiyev and Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Uktam Salomov

The visit was organized to ensure the implementation of Presidential Decrees No. PQ–1 and PQ–2 dated January 5, 2026.

During the visit, the guests met with representatives of the “Qalqon” public group composed of active students. The discussion focused on strengthening internal discipline, preventing offenses and crime, and improving legal awareness among youth.

The preventive activities, awareness campaigns, and social initiatives carried out by the group were highly appreciated.

Bakhriddin Valiyev provided concrete recommendations to further develop the “Qalqon” group, expand its coverage, and increase its effectiveness. This included increasing membership, systematizing preventive work, and strengthening individual engagement with students.

The guests visited the modern Information Resource Center, which features advanced study halls, a rich collection of electronic and printed resources, and all necessary conditions for independent learning.

Open dialogue sessions were held with creative youth, members of the “Mushoira” club, and unorganized youth. Creative works, poetry, and projects were presented.

The central stadium and sports facilities were also inspected. A meeting was held with student-athletes, including world and Asian champions.

Discussions covered athletes’ achievements, training processes, and preparation for international competitions. Special attention was given to developing sports infrastructure and supporting talented youth.

A detailed presentation was delivered on higher education institutions in Syrdarya region, including Gulistan State Pedagogical Institute and the Yangiyer branch of Tashkent Chemical-Technological Institute.

Issues such as infrastructure, education quality, research, innovation, student employment, and internships were highlighted.

A separate presentation covered vocational education development, including dual education systems and workforce training.

An exhibition of scientific developments, startups, and innovative projects by students was organized.

The visit also included a cultural program with performances by students and the university orchestra.

A large meeting was held at the university’s Palace of Culture as part of “Thursday — Youth Day,” with participation of students and local youth.

Key topics included education quality, employment, safety, research, and innovation.

At the end of the event, active students were awarded for their contribution to implementing the Presidential resolution.
