An Effective System for Working with Youth is Being Formed in Syrdarya Region

A comprehensive analysis of the activities of higher education institutions in the Syrdarya region was conducted by the Republican working group as part of studying the implementation of the Presidential Decrees No. PQ–1 and PQ–2 dated January 5, 2026. As a result, the systematic work carried out by Gulistan State University, Gulistan State Pedagogical Institute, and the Yangiyer branch of Tashkent Chemical-Technological Institute was highly evaluated, and it was noted that an effective system for working with youth is being formed in the Syrdarya region.

In particular, the activities of the public group “Qalqon” were highly recognized for preventing crime and offenses among students, strengthening internal discipline, and creating a healthy social environment. This group plays an important role not only in organizing preventive measures but also in working individually with young people, identifying their problems, and helping to resolve them.

Today, a ceremonial awarding event was held at Gulistan State University to recognize achievements in this area. The event was attended by First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhriddin Valiyev, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Botir Kudratkhodjayev, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Uktam Salomov, Deputy Governor of Syrdarya Region O. Mavlonberdiyev, Regional Prosecutor Savid Imatov, as well as heads of relevant organizations and higher education institutions.

During the ceremony, achievements were duly rewarded. In particular, the Rector of Gulistan State University M. Khodjiyev and representatives of the “Qalqon” public group from three higher education institutions were awarded special gifts — electric scooters — by the Prosecutor General’s Office. Letters of appreciation from the Governor of Syrdarya Region were also presented.

For actively promoting reading among youth, the Youth Leader of Gulistan State University Y. Hayitboyev was awarded a cash prize of 10 million soums. In addition, Bakhriddin Valiyev donated a valuable collection of books to the university’s Information Resource Center, contributing to the development of students’ academic potential and reading culture.

Speakers at the event emphasized that working with youth is one of the most important priorities of state policy. Educating young people in the spirit of patriotism, protecting them from harmful ideas and negative influences, and equipping them with modern knowledge and skills were highlighted as key priorities. Special attention was given to the innovative efforts to engage unorganized youth in reading and education at the university’s Information Resource Center.

In his speech, Rector M. Khodjiyev expressed gratitude to the working group and emphasized that all necessary conditions will be created to ensure that the youth of Syrdarya become the builders of the Third Renaissance of New Uzbekistan, and that the university team will mobilize all its strength and potential toward this goal.
