On August 28, 2026, the first meeting of the Council of Gulistan State University in the new 2026/2027 academic year was held in an extended format under the motto: “Together as one homeland and one people, we will create a new life and future!”

The event was opened and chaired by M. Khodjiyev, Rector of the University and Chairman of the Council. In his opening remarks, the Chairman sincerely congratulated the university community on the 35th anniversary of the Independence of our Motherland, the greatest and most cherished national holiday.

The meeting then focused on preparations for the new academic year. The work carried out during the previous academic year was reviewed, and priorities were set for further improving educational and methodological activities, research, spiritual and educational work, as well as the university’s material and technical infrastructure in the 2026/2027 academic year.

Vice-rectors, heads of departments, and experienced professors and teachers also spoke on the agenda items, expressing their views and suggestions.

During the Council meeting, award recipients and prize winners, holders of academic degrees and academic titles, as well as winners of various competitions were honored.
